HubSpot sells Marketing Hub in four tiers, and the gap between the second and the third is the widest we have recorded anywhere: Starter sits at $7 per seat on promotion while Professional starts at $800 a month — a 114-fold step for the tier that unlocks real marketing automation. Here is the full ladder as the pricing page prints it:
| Plan | Published price | Core seats included | Extra seat | One-time onboarding |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | up to 2 users | — | — |
| Starter | $7 /seat/mo promo · $20 list | paid per seat | = seat price | — |
| Professionalonboarding required | $800 /mo annual · $890 monthly | 3 | from $45 /seat/mo | $3,000 |
| Enterpriseonboarding required | from $3,600 /mo | 5 | $75 /seat/mo | $7,000 |
As displayed on hubspot.com/pricing/marketing, checked 24–25 September 2026. Enterprise is shown at its starting price on annual billing; HubSpot does not print a month-to-month Enterprise rate on the page state we captured, so we do not quote one. The Professional base price also assumes HubSpot's entry marketing-contact tier — contact volume is a separate dial that raises the base before seats do.
Every vendor we have priced gives away the software trial for free. HubSpot is the only one that makes a paid onboarding engagement a condition of the tier you came to buy. On Marketing Hub Professional the $3,000 is required and one-time; on Enterprise it is $7,000. It is not an upsell you can decline at checkout — the pricing page states it as part of the plan's terms.
For context across our coverage: Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Freshsales, monday CRM, ClickUp, Asana and monday Work Management all publish self-serve onboarding with no mandatory fee at any tier. HubSpot's sales-side Sales Hub Professional carries a one-time fee of its own — around $1,500 in our CRM cost breakdown — so the onboarding pattern repeats across hubs, at amounts that differ per product. When you budget HubSpot, budget hub by hub.
Professional's headline price includes exactly 3 core seats. Growth past that point is billed at $45 per seat per month on annual billing, and the arithmetic compounds quickly:
| Marketing Hub Professional | Monthly bill (annual cycle) | Annual bill | Year one incl. $3,000 onboarding |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 seats (included) | $800 | $9,600 | $12,600 |
| 5 seats | $890 | $10,680 | $13,680 |
| 15 seats | $1,340 | $16,080 | $19,080 |
| 50 seats | $2,915 | $34,980 | $37,980 |
Computed from the published plan price and the published extra-seat rate ($800 base plus $45 per seat above the 3 included), September 2026. Taxes and the marketing-contact tier excluded. A five-seat team's year-one total is 42% above what "$800/mo" suggests.
| Marketing Hub Enterprise | Monthly bill (annual cycle) | Annual bill | Year one incl. $7,000 onboarding |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 seats (included) | $3,600 | $43,200 | $50,200 |
| 15 seats | $4,350 | $52,200 | $59,200 |
| 50 seats | $6,975 | $83,700 | $90,700 |
Computed from the $3,600 starting price, 5 included seats and the $75 per-seat rate, September 2026. Enterprise pricing is quote-assisted above the published entry point, so treat these as the floor of the conversation.
Starter's card is the only place on the page where HubSpot shows two prices at once: $7 per seat per month, and the $20 list price struck through next to it — the page brands the offer "Save up to 65% on Starter", and 20 reduced to 7 is exactly a 65% cut. The promotion is limited-time and for new customers, and it applies whether you pick monthly or annual billing. While it runs, the page does not display a separate annual list rate, so we record only the two numbers it does show.
| Starter seats | Promo year ($7/seat) | List year ($20/seat) | Increase at renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 seats /yr | $420 | $1,200 | +$780 · +186% |
| 15 seats /yr | $1,260 | $3,600 | +$2,340 · +186% |
| 50 seats /yr | $4,200 | $12,000 | +$7,800 · +186% |
Paying monthly instead of annually on Professional costs $90 a month more — about 11%, the mildest billing-cycle penalty in our coverage. That is the generous reading. The strict one: the required $3,000 onboarding fee dwarfs the cycle decision entirely, and it applies on either cycle.
| Vendor and plan | Annual | Monthly | Monthly premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional | $800/mo | $890/mo | +11% |
| Asana Starter | $10.99/seat | $13.49/seat | +23% |
| monday Work Management Basic | $9/seat | $12/seat | +33% |
| Zoho CRM Standard | $14/seat | $20/seat | +43% |
| ClickUp Unlimited | $7/seat | $10/seat | +43% |
| ClickUp Business | $12/seat | $19/seat | +58% |
| Pipedrive (all tiers) | monthly rate no longer published | — | |
All rates from vendor pricing pages verified September 2026; percentages computed from published figures. HubSpot's row is the base plan price because extra-seat monthly rates are not published for the monthly cycle.
HubSpot meters its AI features through HubSpot Credits, priced at $9.00 per 1,000 credits on annual billing — a structure that turns usage into a second bill that scales with adoption, not with headcount. The plans include starter allowances: 500 credits on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise. Across town, monday.com prints AI credits on its pricing cards at $10 per 1,000, and ClickUp sells AI per seat instead. The currencies are vendor-specific and not interchangeable, but the direction is the same everywhere: AI is becoming a meter, and the plan price is no longer the whole bill.
The newest line item is HubSpot AEO, a product that tracks how your brand appears inside answer engines — brand visibility scores, prompt tracking, competitor comparison. It lists at $50 per month, or $45 on annual billing, for 25 prompts tracked daily across three engines, with a higher allowance at the next tier up. Two things make it worth flagging: it is a new product category with no legacy pricing to anchor it, and none of the comparison sites' spring-2026 snapshots include it — which is precisely why every price on this page carries the month it was checked.
Professional earns its price for teams already committed to multi-channel campaigns, attribution and a shared CRM data layer — and once the onboarding fee is paid, it is sunk: the marginal cost of staying is the subscription alone. If your year-one bill is already behind you, the renewal decision is a genuine comparison against other platforms' list prices rather than against your own entry cost.
Before you commit, run four checks: confirm which cycle the quote assumes and that the onboarding fee is included in the written total; count core seats against real logins, not the org chart; ask for the contact-tier quote at your current list size and at 50% growth; and if you plan to use AI features, price the credits at your realistic usage, because $9 per 1,000 compounds quietly. Those four numbers, not the feature grid, are the budget.
The same discipline applies across the stack. Price your whole stack in the cost calculator before you move anything, and for the sales-side comparison at the same headcount, our CRM cost breakdown prices eight of them at 5, 15 and 50 seats on both billing cycles. If you are weighing HubSpot against the project-management layer instead, our ClickUp pricing breakdown shows how a per-seat AI add-on changes that bill.
Professional is $800 per month on an annual commitment or $890 paying monthly, each including 3 core seats. Enterprise starts at $3,600 per month including 5 core seats. Starter is $7 per seat per month for new customers against a $20 list price, and the free plan covers up to 2 users. Verified September 2026.
Yes on the upper tiers: the pricing page states the displayed cost does not include the required, one-time Professional Onboarding — $3,000 — and Enterprise carries a required $7,000 fee. Starter and the free plan have no onboarding fee.
Professional includes 3 core seats and additional core seats cost from $45 per seat per month; Enterprise includes 5 and charges $75 per additional seat. Five seats on Professional therefore bill $890 a month before onboarding.
The seat reverts toward the $20 list price: at 5 seats the annual bill moves from $420 to $1,200 (+186%), at 15 seats from $1,260 to $3,600, and at 50 seats from $4,200 to $12,000. The promotion applies to either billing cycle, and no separate annual list rate is displayed while it runs.
Annual, by $90 a month on Professional ($890 versus $800, about 11% — the mildest cycle penalty we have recorded). The required $3,000 onboarding fee applies on either cycle and is nearly three times the entire first-year saving from choosing annual.
AI usage is metered in HubSpot Credits at $9.00 per 1,000 on annual billing, with 500 credits included on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise. The AEO add-on, which tracks brand visibility in answer engines, lists at $50 per month ($45 on annual) for 25 prompts tracked daily across three engines.
